Exhibition: Chemical Landmark 2021 – NMR Spectroscopy

An exhibition at the entrance to the Information Center highlights the contribution of Nobel Prize winner Richard E. Ernst to the development of NMR spectroscopy.

 

On the occasion of the awarding of the CHN building of ETH Zurich and the headquarters of the Bruker company in Fällanden as Chemical Landmarks 2021 by the Platform Chemistry of the Swiss Academy of Sciences, the Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy Information Center is showing a display case and book exhibition on the contribution of Nobel Prize winner and ETH scientist Richard E. Ernst to the development of NMR spectroscopy. In addition to historical NMR probes, a facsimile of the Nobel Prize award certificate and an original copy of Ernst’s dissertation are on display. Visitors can also browse through a facsimile of one of Ernst’s notebooks and delve further into the subject with numerous books provided.
