Refresher courses in text- and structure-based literature search

News

Do you want to save a lot of time during your research or Masters project? The Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy Information Center offers three valuable refresher courses on scientific information retrieval.

Earlier in your studies, we most likely introduced you to using scientific literature and retrieving information from databases. Frankly, that was ages ago and those were tailored specifically to your lab courses. Now you are doing real research, with real problems, and we want to offer a little help.

The three refresher courses review the most important aspects of text- and structure-based literature search. They are independent of each other and designed with minimal overlap in content. All refresher courses will take place on-site, rooms will be announced shortly beforehand, but will most likely be in the HCI building.

"Text-Based Literature Search", March 2, 2022, HCI J6, Info & registration:http://u.ethz.ch/GNtdo
Find relevant literature in a more efficient and systematic way.

"Basic Structure, Property & Reaction Search", March 9, 2022, HCI J6, Info & registration: http://u.ethz.ch/g6wxi
Reaxys and SciFinder n for beginners: Use Structure-search to find relevant physical or chemical properties, reaction data, or references.

"Advanced Structure, Property & Reaction Search", March 16, 2022, Info & registration: http://u.ethz.ch/ELsxy
A course for users who know the basic mechanics of Reaxys and SciFinder n: Use substructure searches, perform more specific reaction searches (catalysts, surviving functional groups) and combine structure and text search. Maybe we also have time for some topics in organometallics.
