The course will teach you how to effectively retrieve, critically evaluate, analyze, and manage published scientific information. These are important skills in the chemical, life, health, and materials sciences, where the ability to manage large amounts of information is becoming increasingly important. Using practical examples, the course maps the steps of the scientific research cycle to the corresponding information and knowledge management tools.

The course covers: scientific publishing, searching and retrieving scientific information, tools for analyzing and managing information, text mining, patents, visualization, and scientific writing and communication.

The course, which will be taught in English, is designed to help graduate students make full use of the power of scientific information resources and tools.
